School meals
At Willow Tree we offer delicious home-cooked meals every day, served in our dedicated canteen area.
Our school meals are provided by Aspens, a specialist school catering company. Aspens can cater for all individual dietary requirements and provide a range of options each day. Aspens' Food Festival menus are packed with comfort dishes and, at the same time, help pupils to take their first steps with new tastes to explore. We make the most of fruit and vegetables that are in season, because that’s when they taste best and are the most planet friendly too.

Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently entitled to receive free school meals. Not only will you be saving money but you will also be giving your child a nutritionally balanced meal to fuel their bodies for the rest of the learning day.
Free school meals are available to children of all ages if their parents/carers are in receipt of certain benefits. If you think you may be entitled to free school meals you should make an application to the local education authority:

Paid school meals
Paid school meals are available for all pupils who are not eligible for Free School Meals. Dinner money needs to be paid weekly in advance on Monday mornings. We are unable to accept cash and ask that payments are made to school via Arbor.
If dinner money is not received for the week, meals will not be provided and a packed lunch must be brought from home.
Packed lunches
If you choose to send your child with a packed lunch to school, please make sure that it contains no nuts and is healthy and nutritious. You can find helpful examples on the NHS Healthier Families site: https://www.nhs.uk/healthier-families/recipes/healthier-lunchboxes/
Water bottles
Children are welcome to bring a bottle of water to school which they can keep in their classrooms. In line with the government's school food standards, and our own commitment to healthy eating and healthy teeth, this must be filled with water and not juice.
